After 3 months ago I started getting problems with hip, glutes a back. At first it was the piriformis catching nerves. Although it seems that a tight psoas (and anterior tilt) seems to have been the underlying cause for all my problems.
I am a weightlifter, so I have had to stop deadlifts and squats for 2+ months. When I was holiday a while back I felt a sharp pain on my right hand side where the psoas is, and it soon went (I was walking to shops).
Since then I have been seeing a sports massage therapist and chiropractor, and things have improved. The only problem that still remains is tight psoas (mainly right hand side) which sometimes causes back pain. Also worth noting TFL and Hamstring on right side are tighter, and my right leg is naturally 2-3mm longer than left (when first saw new chiropractor, it was 7mm, and stretching / manipulation reduced this).
I do a circuit of stretches twice a day, dynamic stretches 2-3 times a week, foam roller / tennis ball every day and Reverse Lunges / Bridges daily. Which seems to have helped, and at the moment temporarily releases psoas. But I cant seem to loosen it any further, and I have had days where it is tighter than others due to doing a bit more (e.g. more walking than usual).
Im going to speak to my chiropractor on Monday about things when I have my appointment. The massage therapist wont work the ilipsoas though.
Im on holiday on Wednesday for 10 days, and would like to try and reduce / keep tightness to minimum, and return to weight lifting soon after Im back. But at the moment, its not looking that way as progress seems to have stopped!
Anyone have any futher ideas / advice to try and loosen psoas more?
Thanks in advance

Have you tried trigger point therapy?
Its something you could do your self quite easily and takes a matter of minutes.
Search for a book by Clair Davies...The trigger point therapy workbook...Cost about a tenner on amazon....(vids on youtube search ...psoas trigger point))Its like a bible to me for pain relief and it teaches you how to do it to yourself....
