I broke my ankle 3 years ago, and have since lost dorsiflexion. It appears that there is almost something blocking me from bending down further. This can be quite painful when I experience jarring movements, ie going over rough terrain on my snowboard. It also feels like it could almost snap at this point of blockage, making for tentative snowboarding.

From my deductions, I think this what is referred to as 'footballers ankle'.

My question is, has anyone out there experienced similar injuries, if so, what was the procedure to correct this?
