Hi i have just had a client who has had a hip replecement, but her knee internally rotates to such a degree that her knees knock as she walks, while at the same time her foot externaly rotates at about 45 degrees. Would stretching the adductors and strengthening the abductors help? Does anyone have any ideas in helping me find the tight and weak muscles?

Tight Muscles- iliopsoas,

Tight Muscles- iliopsoas, rectus femoris, adductors, TFL, gastrocs & soleus, hamstrings
Weak Muscles- retus abdominis, obliques, glut max, glut med, hamstrings
This can be unilaterl or a bilateral poor alignment distortion.
I wish you well in you pursuit to wellness.

Hip lock or muscle scar tissue?

I cannot raise the knee of right leg past 90 degree without pain and almost having it lock up. The same when lying down can bring left knee near ear but right leg stops a foot or more from ear. Is this a hip joint, or muscle problem, or what. I don't have insurance to get it checked out medically. Thanks on any insights or suggestions. Russ A
