I really need some addvice PLEASE I broke my ankle

I broke my ankle About a month ago skim boarding with some friends I had to get surgery the put 8 screws and a metal plate in my fibula and one really big screw through the ankle .. I healed up pretty good and about a month later here I am I got impatient with my cast and two weeks before the cast was supposed to come off, last night I cut it off it was all good up until about half an hour ago I was hopping out of the bathroom and slipped and for some reason put my bad foot down and kept going forward I heard a pop or something and it hurt pretty bad it doesn't hurt now at all but I am worried about the pop I heard, I REALLLYY don't want to go to the doc just in cast he tells me I need to have the cast on for an other month UGGG dumb for taking the cast off I know ..... anyone have any idea's?? of what that pop was ??? it's probly not that big a deal but im freaking out now I need to get back to work soon and I can't afford another cast any advice would be sweet hahahah except going to the doc I already know I should just need to know if it was serious before I go see him I NEED A HEADS UP thank you soo much
