arthroscopy of the left knee

I have just had this done, having had a similar diagnosis to yours. I used to be an all-round athlete: cricket, soccer, tennis, race-walking, running etc. but now mainly do masters' athletics (60-64 age category). About three months ago, while training for the 200m, my left leg went very weak and almost collapsed. I could hardly walk. Two weeks ago, I had surgery, recommended by my orthopaedic surgeon. By now, you would probably have had yours, so I am interested in the after effects. I had the stitches taken out a few days ago. I can walk around reasonably well, but cannot as yet put much pressure on the left leg (like ascending or descending stairs). The knee 'clicks'sometimes when I walk, but no pain. At the moment, it is a trifle sore below the kneecap, but otherwise all seems OK. I am curious to find out if I will be able to do sprints again. Sprinting puts far more pressure on the knee than running longer distances or jogging, so I will have to wait to try the leg out to find out what the prospects are. What has been your experience?

hey yeh, i still havnt had the scope, and my surgeon didnt say exactly wat he was going to do. we originally thought i had retorn my acl but the mri has shown up this. which i think... i think... is a better situation. i just dont know what is involved with the medial meniscus... i had heard that they cant repair cartlige?? i am just praying that i can get the stability back in the knee so i can play basketball and soccer etc again.
