depite having a slightly tender lower leg yesterday, i went for a 7 mile run outside and by the time i finished i had an extremly painful leg, which is worse today and can barely walk on it. The pain is on the outside of my right leg from my ankle to my calf, and feels painful and bruised to the touch. anyone got an idea what i may have done and what the best treatment would be ?

Have you tried getting your feet assessed to ascertain whether or not you need support in your running trainers? It is definetly worth a try. If your in the UK go to a sweatshop store (very helpful staff). If you visit www.sweatshop.co.uk you will find the details of your nearest store.

The key is to ease yourself back into training, take off the load (start off with brisk walks-running puts a lot of stress on the joints, 2-3 times your body weight). Just don't go mad, train safe and ask your physio for advice. Best of Luck, Dan
