I sustained an injury to my right ankle on the inside in December of 2002. It has been a year and a month and I still have the same problem. I am a triple jumper and I love track and field. Originally, I injured it when I triple jumped. When I landed on my right foot, my talus and fibula hit each other causing bone brusing. This is what the MRI showed. I was sent to therapy but nothing helped. I took the rest of the season off and I attepted to jump in the outdoor season, unsuccessfully. I took off all summer and all fall. I still weight trained lightly to try to develop the muscles around my ankle. This indoor season, every time I jump, I feel the same excruciating pain in my ankle. Afterwards it hurts for a week and then it is fine again until I jump again.
I am beginning to break down, emotionally because I love to jump. Every time I try, it comes back to square 1. Please help me.
I am hoping to be able to jump in college but right now, no one knows how to help me. I have been to 6 doctors and therapists and specialists who don't know what to do. If there is someone out there who might have an idea of what is wrong, please help me. It has been 13 months. Please help me. Thank you
Ani
