Hi,
I am a keen footballer and have been having problems for about 6 weeks on the outside, lateral surface of the Ilium, just below the crest, when I touch this area the pain spreads through the Glutes. I have had no pain in the knee or below the buttocks. I rested for 3 weeks which made no difference. I have been doing stretches and light massaging of the area, along with taking anti inflammatory drugs but the pain has remained. The pain is greatest when I abduct the hip. Has anyone got any ideas what this could be? does it fit the symptoms for Iliotibial band syndrome.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in anticipation.
