.I partially tore my PCL four years ago but it was not severe enough to warrant surgery. have recently added deadlifts to my program and am experiencing pain behind the knee due to the injury. The pain occurs near the top of the lift (I never completely straighten my legs). My knee is stronger than ever while squatting and I have not experienced any pain in a long time. I understand the PCL stops the tibia from displacing backwards and because the weight is loaded on the front of the body, this would cause the femur to tend to slide forward over the tibia if the PCL is weakened. Could someone confirm if my theory is correct and whether I should alter my technique or stop doing deadlifts all together.
Thanks,
Grant
