Pulled Ligament
About a year ago in a soccer match i kicked a ball and felt a pull in my left hip. i went directly over to the sports therapist and he told me that i pulled a ligament in my hip and it would heal with time. i rested it for about a month stretching it frequently. i played again about a few weeks after the injury and it felt fine. then about a month or two ago the injury reoccured. i took some more time off and it seemed to heal. but again it came back a few days ago. i was wondering if it will ever completely heal and what i need to get that and how long it will take. it only occurs every now and then but when it does it takes awhile for it to go away. any help would be appreciated. thanks alot.
Pulled Ligament
See a Doctor, get a MRI, if you are injuring the same area the this would seem that you may very well need and operation to correct the probelm.
surgery
Hello mate as far as I am concerned surgery is the last option you should look at, you do not say what therapies you have received to date with regrds to this injury, you say that you visited a sports therapist what did they actually do, and have you had any treatment on it since, give us some more details and we might be able to give you a better answer. cheers John Murphy
Pulled Ligament
when i went and saw the sports therapist he did not tell me anything to do. all he did was have me lie down on my back and hold my leg up in the air. he then felt around the area while he moved my leg around. he came up the the conclusion i pulled a ligament and just told me to stretch and rest it.
Hip
Travis I suggest that you find yourself a sports injry specialist and get the hip looked at. See if you can find someone that other people recommend. Your injury could be anything from a muscle strain to a more serious type injury. This injury will not simply go away with rest it needs looking at, it sounds like it has had more than enough rest, intervention is what is now required. give us some more details on exactly where the pain is and how it comes on. Cheers John Murphy
Pulled Ligament
the pain is located in the space where the pelvis and leg meet. the pain comes on wheneverdon't stretch very good and i try and kick the ball. this is probably the main reason for the injury i just wanted to make sure. thanks for all the help
Pulled Ligament
Excellent Advice Travis :D
Pulled Ligament
hey.. i had a pull inmy hamstring too, and that was because of insufficient warm ups and cool downs coupled with high intensive physical activities
Operation is th eworst scenario
but i was wondeirng next time if the pull occurred.
rest, then start off with jogging.
try to slowly strengthen the hamstrings with slow jogging and stretch everytime.
someitmes it gets wrose when you over stretch it as well...
so just try to do the routine warmup procedues but for a longer duration.
treat it as your routine training schedule fort he meantime.
next time you kick the ball, don;t start off with your usual vigorous run and swing motion.
try to kick the ball on spot first...
don;t rush yourself...or else it would only get worse
Pulled Ligament

Bad back
Have got an injury in January (which occured in a Pilates class but I had a bad back before this, so it was probably just brewing) I was told it was a ligament strain and I took three weeks off work and it got better although never fully went away and the sciatica stayed. I am going for a MRI scan now in a few weeks time as it is more than a year and it is has now come back with a vengeance. I have been told that ligaments can sometimes last eighteen months to two years - is this correct?
i had the same injury
you need to go to an orthapedic surgeon and get an injection into the hip bone. i had it done this past monday, and i am feeling 100% better.
