Hi
I Ruptured my ACL playing soccer 4 weeks ago now...Iam now able to climb stairs again and have regained full bending motion in my injured leg.
My physio said that clinically my recovery thus far does not match the damage with the MRI scan has shown.
It is hoped that I will be able to return to sport without the need of an operation... which sounds cool ... but what are the implications?
Is the knee likely to cause problems if the ACL is ruptured but hamstrings and other muscles can compensate?

Hi I did my ACL about a year ago playing football. 2 MRI scans showed it had gone. I played some cricket and football after intial recovery, the knee seemingly v strong in straight line. But it gave way under heavy twist a few times and so I gave up. Now on list for surgery. Bristol Uni physio says it is possible to strengthen other bits, hamstings, etc to compensate, but there is always the fear of pushing it too far when playing. I am looking for a fancy knee brace to try while wating for reconstruction.
Cheers
