Following a cycling spill three years ago in which I dislocated my shoulder I have repeatedly and increasingly frequently dislocated my shoulder again. Now it seems that I manage to do it on at least a monthly basis often by simply taking off a sweater.
I have been advised to have surgery that I am told will probably completely fix this, but I'm sure there is another side to this and I'd welcome the feedback from anybody with experience of this kind of surgery.

Shoulder dislocation

I dislocated my shoulder 13 times in a month. It doesn't get any better. I had surgery 20 years ago and I came out of surgery with about 75% use of my shoulder. The technology today is much better off. I would atleast find out what your shoulder would be like after surgery. Is your motion going to be limited? Can you still do the same activites as you once did? What is the worst case scenario from the surgery? I can pretty much do everything I did before the surgery except when lifting weights I can do any exercises that require me to "push" over my head. Military press, dumbell press and so on.
