Sore knuckles after judo

.After a JUDO session - the next morning, when I wake up - I have very sore knuckles on both hands. I have been doing Judo for quite a while now but did not notice the sore knuckle problem until about a year ago.
Maybe this old Judoka is just getting on in years and is finally facing the ravages...
Anyhow, if anyone has any words of wisdom on how to make my hands feel a little better I would certainly appreciate suggestions.

A friend of mine suffered similar, he stopped eating red meat the symptons went in about three weeks

it is possible tat it is to do with the way you grip, some people (normally strong males) grip by screwing up the jacket which is not the most effective way, really only the bottom three fingers grip, this allows more mobility in the wrist.
