i have had this calf and shin injury for 2 years now (im now 17) and no one has been able to sort it, or even know what it is. all the tests i have had done have not showed anything. and now no one really knows what to do with me.
the calfs are allways very heavy and stiff and there is always this dull ache which is over the whole calf muscle. this is the same in both calfs. this pain gets worse with sport but not terribly worse ie i can play sport as long as i only do it once or twice a week. if i try and play more than that the calfs will get really bad.
i also have an injury to the left shin which although its symptons are completly different i expect it could be caused by the same problem.
whenever i try and stretch the hamstring the shin just flares up suddenly and i have to stop. the shin pain comes on whenever i do sport and is not really there when i dont do sport.
a physio i recently saw thinks this may be a mechanical problem with the way i walk believe it or not this is the one last field i havent really tried. i have collapsed arches and my feet turn inwards when i walk.
do you think this could be causing my injuries??
i have now changed my insoles to help stop my feet turining inwards.
if this is causing it how long do you think it will take for the pain to go?
is there anything else i could be doing that would get rid of this problem or help the way i walk. like would sttrngthening all the ankle help??
please offer any advice
thankyou very much.

Have you been getting any massage? Has the physio mentioned compartment syndrome?
