Having to do some work on Interdisciplinary research and the benefits this could have in our field.

A quick example of Interdisciplinary research is weight loss. You could go to the gym (Monodisciplinary research), but not lose weight. You could see a psychologist for behaviour change (Monodisciplinary research) , but no weight lose. You could even see a dietician, but no weight loss (Monodisciplinary research). BUT put them all together and weight loss.

Another example is the high-diver retuning from injury (caused by an incorrect high-dive). They could see a S+C coach etc from recovery and physical preparation, but if they don’t see a psychologist they could try to protect their body or have a fear of failure/injury.

Hope I’m making sense so far.

What I am needing in other example other than the ones above (needed to be supported by research).

I’m thinking about pole vault, helmets vs. injury, biomechanics vs. jump height….

Any ideas, suggestions, comments?

Thanks

B

p.s. I’ve been working for 14 hours now, so sorry for grammar, spelling etc.
