Mature female, 40+, looking to kickstart a programme to lose ten pounds in 4 weeks.

I read about CLA awhile back and went out and bought some. Then I read the article here in the library and now I have my doubts.

This anti-oxidant stress--is it longtime or shorterm?
Can the symptoms be alleviated with extra vit C or the natural dietary supplement?

oxidative stress is basically damage caused in cells at molecular level by increased oxygen metabolism. physiology dictates that endurance exercise causes increased levels of oxygen metabolism hence causing oxidative stress in the cells.
a diet rich in antioxidants will go someway towards counter balancing out any damage.
10lbs in four weeks is a lot to lose quickly, especially if you are not overweight to begin with. ensure you're diet is right and you are doing the right exercise for your goals - obviously huge amounts of CV will cause further oxidative stress on top of any that occurs with CLA supplementation. a good programme of combined resistance and cv is best.
