Been given a plan to stick to by a friend to decrease in weight by about half a stone but tone up at the same time.

He said to cut out fruit all together as its pure sugar and is no benefit to boosting energy levels prior to workout.

I trust my mate but just want a second opinion

cheers

It looks like your friend gave you something simmular to a bodybuilding cut down diet.. I realy don't have enough information to make an informed opinion. Did she advise to eat more protein??? If I am on the right track....Yes these diets do seem to work. A couple of problems though....most of the weight lose comes from a sudden drop of calories... anything too fast will incourage the old yo-yo efect and will end up making your trouble spots more pronounce..eg. thighs, bum. tummy
Most recent research does indicate an increase in protein is helpfull in weight lose and body composition....due to muscle repair (only any good if exercising)..and most importantly, protein makes you feel full. Your brain can only get it's energy from carbohydates.. you need some..
just have good ones. :D
