Hi guys,
Just new to the forum. I needed a place to chat with other runners etc about training and nutrition. so i ended up here.

So i just finished my season last week. and im getting ready for the upcoming cross country. last season i did a fair bit of weight training. this helped lower my 800m PB

But i decided i need to lose some body fat to get faster and increase my milage next season.

I want to introduce more swimming into my training. but im wondering is weight training better for upper body strenght than swimming. like obviously a sprinter would need some weight training. but if i just wanted to run a fast 800m/1500m? would swimming and core work be good enough.

when i say fast i mean sub 1.50 for 800m ish?

thanks
