Hi there people,
I am a recreational golfer and a full time personal trainer. Part of my long term business plan is to make myself more exclusive by specialising in golf conditioning. I have looked into the CHEK Golf Biomechanic course and I am very impressed. (I would be interested to hear from anyone who has completed this) Does anybody know of any other courses that specialises in this area and is respected by golfers?
Thanks for your help and replies.
Shaun Tyler

Golf Biomechanic, as far as i can remember.
I do a golf fitness programme here (fitnup 4 golf) not pushed it too much, not had time, would like to push it a bit more and possibly start up a training programme that i could move into other european countries.
Its not pushed much in europe, and would definately do well

i would be interested to hear more about this chek program that u guys were talking about. aside from my normal weight training, id be interested in anything that can get me in better shape and make me a better player. im at a point now where ive sort of hit a plateau and anything that can get me over this hump would be well worth it. thanks.

Just completed the course in the UK. I run a golf academy and found the course very illuminating and have already satrted to implement fitness training changes in line with the course information. The A & P is of quite a high level so definitely read the books they tell you to prior to going on the course. I am currently conducting research into golf specific training regimes and how they affect different elements of the golf swing. So I'll post the results early next year when the study is over. Good luck with the course.

Hi i completed the golf biomechanics course in Eastbourne UK 3 years ago, i train all ages of golfers and the exercises do work however i also completed a masters diploma in functional training which i now use all the techniques on my golfers as its more functional than the chek stuff, both do work however the chek exercises are on all fours or your back which is not the position for golf. the functional stuff teaches your glutes (but/bum) to switch on standing up in the addres position and or part of the golf swing. my youngest golfer is 12 who is a scholar at wentworth and he has dropped his handicapp down from 16 and regularly hits 250+ yard drives since ive been training him but the most important thing we work on is switching his glutes to then protect his knee and back so to reduce injuries.
