After my post below

http://www.pponline.co.uk/community/viewtopic.php?t=2292&highlight=

I was wondering if anyone had an basic programs for improving running endurance. I am looking for a fairly good program that is in some way periodised......

The program is for the average joe trying to get 'fit' whatever that may mean.

I understand I have not been very specific so please, if you feel you can answer the question, and need clarification on anything then ask.

If you haven't already, read the posts about Heart Rate. Aussie talks absolute sense when he maintains aerobic training is the way to go, even although he talks about cycling, it is all applicable to running as well. If you want to get fit and not get injured then use the Long Slow Distance. Other references you can look up on the Net are Phil Maffetone, Hadd and others.

Good luck with the training
