I have been studing thai boxing for ten years now and I have found that not having the right amount of fluid in your body will cause sickness, dehydration, and muscle shut down.
So for your body I would suggest that you try to get atleast two glasses of water per hour just to keep the fluids in your body.

Thanks for that, when I started I think I was drinking too much water which seemed to have some of the effects as too little, nausea being the major problem. Got a very difficult class tonight so will take your advice.

The amount you need to drink depends on your sweat rate, environmental conditions, intensity of the exercise and your toleration to fluid during exercise.
Drink 500 ml of water/sports drink at least 2 hours before the start of the class, continue to sip drinks thereafter and take any opportunities you can to take on board fluid during the class.
