Are any members of the forum following an 'athlete modified' Paleo style diet?

Basically it's the same as a Paleo diet (ie. primarily fish, meat, vegetables, nuts, seeds) but includes high-GI carbs (as appropriate) during and after training for restoration of muscle glycogen.

I know a few athletes are using this method, including Gordo Byrn, Joe Friel, and many others. Any boarders following it and have any comments on success or pitfalls?
