Depends on what you know and want to achieve. If you have a good knowledge on heart rate training and just need something you can put limits into as intervals, then the S210 is probably best. If you want it to break down heart rate zones, do the calculations then something along the lines of the RS200 (which you can put an optional foot pod on that quite accurately measures running speed and distance). If you want bike abilities then your heading up in price.
If however you just want something to show you what your heart rate is, then even a basic old A3 will do the trick.

When I did my research on pulse rate monitors, I decided against the Polar models as when the battery dies you have have to send it back to them. I bought a Reebok one from http://www.fitnessscape.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=F/PROD/reebok_heart_rate_monitors/reebok_fit . I've used it few times and do like it.

Well I would just buy a basic one to start and see how you get on with it most of the basic heart rate monitors have at least a couple of training zones which will help your fitnes and as you get use to it then upgrade to one more specific to what you need cause some are expensive and some of the features may be wasted.

An HRM may not be the correct tool for your intended usage.
The response of the heart to changes in workload is quite slow. If, for instance you are jogging and then break into a sprint, it could take your heart in excess of 30s to respond fully to this change in effort.
However, your workload is going to be constantly changing. One moment you are standing still, the next you are running flat out to keep up with the play, at other times you will just be jogging between players. This sort of a variable workload will just not be measured by any HRM.
If you are concerned about your physical condition in refereeing a full length game (plus injury and extra time) then you don't need any sort of machine to give you the answer - you already know the truth, but just need to accept it.

Hi,
I have been using Polar Heart Rate Monitors for years now. Without getting in too much depth, I would recommend you look at http://polar.fitnessmegastore.co.uk/ they have all the info on the site, and are available on the phones for all advice. They have helped me out a lot over the years for both training advice, as well as product help.
