I like taking an ice bath. No pain the following day and my muscles feel brand new.

If i have just done a gym session I always warm down on one of the cross trainers for at least 15mins. I only have the intensity very low and just get the whole body moving nice and easy. If I have been at the track I go for a light jog for 20 mins, I personally find 5 min of jogging doesn't work for me. I always stretch before (dynamic) and after a session and this can take 30mins +. Hot baths are great, spa's and I get a sports massage every fortnight this keeps me in check of any niggles that might not have noticed (I haven't been brave enough for an ice bath yet brrrr.)

I tend to get the athletes to have ice baths, contrast bathing, some type of restorative massage and some time use the hydro pool

I buy a bag of ice. I sit in the tub and let it start filling with me in it. It is easier to get use to the cold that way than just jumping in. I stay in for 10-15 minutes and I'm as good as new the following day.

Ok. Ive just started doing ice baths the last few days. I just let the bath fill up with enough cold water and then i put a few lots of ice in. Its as cold as i can get it.
