protein shakes etc
Ive read on bodybuilding sites that protein shakes, like whey, can help aid in muscle recovery. Provided a serve of protein powder is roughly equal to a serve of good protein, would it be a good idea to use protein shakes or other supplements?
{Im only going to buy protein powder if its not real expensive}
Can anyone advise me? :)

Just eat good food and supplement only if you really have to, supplements are that, they supplement. I'm personally making the best gains of my life at 47 and taking no supplements what so ever, get your diet right first.
Train hard and smart, eat well and rest.
Have a good un, cheers John Murphy

Ok, so they won't really help me recover any better then normal foods? Do you plan what you eat each day? I just try to eat 'healthly' but i don't eat certain foods at certain times etc. I just try to eat good amounts of complex carbs, lean proteins and lots of fruit and vegies.

no I dont plan. I know what I should be eatting and what I should not, as I said get your diet right first and foremost, it's what most people fall down on.
What are your training aims, are you going to be competing etc this all has to go into the equation.
Supplemnts are just that, they are there to supplement an already good diet not to replace it.
Have a good un, cheers John Murphy

Alright i don't think ill worry about them until im older. I guess if i get good enough at my sport, to play proffessionally then ill use supp's then.
I just though they might help me recover quicker as thats what they claim!

After some 25 years in the weight game I have found that you cannot beat the basics, my training has gone full circle for instants I do the following routine.
Chins weighted 5 sets 5 reps 20k best chin todate 37k
Dips weighted 5 x 5 again 20k best dip todate 37k
Squats roman chair, (see Vince Gironda. web search) 7 x 5 20k
Mil press strict 50k 5 x 5
Swings kettle bell 3 x 10 25k. This routine is done 3 x a week, I use the 21/7 rule train 21 days rest 7. So I complete 9 workouts then rest a week and the weeks rest is doing me the world of good.
Food I try to eat clean but if I fancy a pizza I have one, I think I tried most legal supplements on the market at one time or another to little avail, dont believe all the hype about supplements, get a good clean diet and your training right first and foremost then if you need to then supplement. Most people do it the other way round. If your in the outback and can't get any where near a gym then you need to look at your exercise choices, do a search on Roman chair sqauts, V dips etc. Single limb work can give you ingredible strength gains without have massive amounts of weight to shift. As I said before, train hard eat clean and rest the rest is when your body recovers from what you are throwing at it.

after you get a good diet down i recommend a serving of protein and then a serving of glutamine after your work out
and taking a multivitamin daily is good too

What are you current stats and your goals?
Protein supplementation is vital to high level athletes as part of their post work out nutrition, but depending on your level it may be a waste.
You need to be sourcing protein from complete protein sources (steak and chicken breast are my preferences).
Clean carbs in the form of potato, sweet potato and rice.
You then need to decide what protein type is best for you, WPC, WPI etc etc.
Outline where you're at and where you wanna be and we can advise more acurrately.

What is HTTP proxy server?
HTTP proxy server is a proxy allowing to work on the Internet with HTTP and (not always) FTP protocols. It can carry out caching of information downloaded from the Internet. Now HTTP proxy servers are the most widespread. Their support (ability to use them) is included into many programs: browsers, download managers etc. However, their support is not realized at a level of an operating system ? in order to use them, you should configure all programs, which should use proxies, in an appropriate way. HTTP proxy servers have several anonymity levels.

Protien is awesome. I have am using it and it is very helpful in muscle recovery. It isn't real expensive, depending on were you get it. If you live in the U.S. you can try the place I use. www.muscleinfusion.com It is 30 dollars for 71 servings, and that includes shipping. It will also help in keeping the fat off and muscle growth. Whey Protien is the best. it is all natural, just dont take too much and use a multi vitiman.
protein shakes
Hi, i was wandering if u can advise me about protein shakes. I am tryin to loose a bit weight (1/2 stone). at the moment doing 2x a week bodypump (1hr weight training with music with instructor). and some pilates and running in days in between.
I am woman, so dont want to have big muscles (the teacher said that that won't happen because to many repeats) but want to be strong. my problem is, that i dont eat meat (don't ask why, just cant stomach it :-) and intolerant to dairy. in the gym they sell protein shakes and recomended me one after Bodypump. They said that it helps the muscle to recover. I have to say, that i am doing this 3 months and my muscles are tired constantly (yes, i have recovery days :-) ) Also i am experiencing fatigue after about 30 min training, even thought other woman seems to be ok to continue the whole hour. so do you think that not inaf protein may be the problem? My goal is to be slim, but fit with nicely defined muscles but not to much for a woman, who wants to look feminine :-)
thanks a lot for answer.
