when I do push ups, I cant seem to get a burn in my chest, its like everything goes to my tris and backs of my shoulders, ive fiddled around with technique, someone please help

push ups primarily utilize the triceps and a small amount of the pectorals, anyways if you want to work your chest with this exercise then place your arms shoulder width apart or wider!

Like Roshy says, change technique by altering the width of your arms, the further together they are, the more they work the inner pecs, tris and delts. The wider they are the more they work the outside of your chest. You could also try pre-exhausting your pectorals by doing a flye of some description.

have you tried including a clap after the rising phase of the pushups. This technique makes you push harder, and thus recruiting more muscle for the movement. Also catching yourself after the clap utilizes eccentric contraction better.
