I'm a 100m and 200m sprinter.
How helpful would it be to train for speed endurance on a stationary bicycle in addition to track speed endurance sessions?
I was trying to figure out how long these "bike sprints" should be as an alternative to let's say 200m sprints. Let's say i run the 200m in 23.5 seconds - would it make sense to sprint on a bike (at maximum speed) for 47 seconds?
I came up with twice the time since I had read an article once (which unfortunately I can't find) which stated so.
Anyone knows of any research or tried anything of the sort?

Interesting concept, but I’m not sure you’d get the results you are looking for.
You will be able to increase the neural firing speed of the cycling muscles, but not sure about those muscles used for running. Also too much work on the bike may interfere with your running performance, as you’re enforcing the muscle firing order for cycling.
I was helping a friend train for the 200m sprint for a track cycling event. I employed 3 different methods (maximum pedal cadence, acceleration and speed endurance).
Maximum pedal cadence training was done over 450 m. Starting at 70 rpm and increasing until he started to bounce on the seat. Bouncing on the seat is an indicator that the quadriceps & gluteal muscles used in the down stroke are not able to relax quick enough and the result is you are lifted off the seat.
Acceleration training was done over 450 m. The first 250 m between 110 & 115 rpm and then accelerating to maximum rpm as quickly as possible and maintaining to the end.
Speed endurance training was done over 1km keeping the cadence at between 120 & 135 rpm.
In the beginning resistance was nil and slowly increased over 8 weeks as he increased the gearing used during the hill sprint training on the road.
As you can see I’m a distance base person as apposed to time based.
