I am a 15 year old male in Hamilton Ontario Canada. I am a sprinter for my school track team and currently a regional champion. There are no indoor tracks in Hamilton for the winter, the closest one ebing Toronto. Does anyone have any training programs suitable for track exercises and conditioning in a regular gym or any other activities that would be useful.

Thanks, Jeff

Just wondering do you have any gyms with an aerobic room in your area?

I dont think anyone enjoys winter training, especially when you are track training. Fortunately, I work at a place with an indoor track.

I would continue to train outside if there is not 6 inches of snow and minus 15 degrees! Take longer to warm up and ensure that you wear lots of layers. Also make sure that you have some warm and dry clothes to get into after training and a place to cool down shelted from the weather.

General conditioning can be completed in a gym working on anatomical adaptations/hypertrophy and then onto max strength during the winter following a typical periodised plan.

Not sure what track conditioning sessions you can do inside an aerobic studio but have a look at Frappier trainning. not sure of the website but maybe able to give you some ideas.
