Strength for the BacK?

Have you had any problems or injury with your back or are you making a subjective evaluation that you need back training?

I would stick to the basic ones such as the pull downs, barbell rows, dead lifts, back extensions, dead lift above the knees, stiff leg or straight leg dead lifts, pull ups, lying reverse leg raises, spine hyperextensions, to name just a few you might try.
Include some stretches after you lift as part of your cool down and you should be in the ballpark.

ah thanks danny its real cool to hear some advise!
i havnt had an injury yet but i have felt a little weak in the lower back and coz i'm a snowboarder i want to get it real tuff so it can take the wipe-outs and avoid injury.
so i'm not too sure about those terms, :) some were self explanatory but what are pull downs, dead lifts, and spine hyperextensions? how do you do these movements?
cheers.LydiA.
