hi I would advise anyone to take cod liver oil from a bottle. It has numerous benefits, including helping with depression, it is good for a healthy mind, helps spare carbs while burning fat, reduces risk of heart disease and cancer.. I have taken it for 2 months, but there has been research from various sources including peak performance. The nutrients responsible are omega 3 and omega 6. Of course you can get this from food, such as wholemeal bread, nuts, fresh oily fish... but it is much more convenient and easier to get the right dosage from taking it from a bottle which should be stored in a fridge.
