I love my early morning 10km run. I also love the set of resistance training I do for about an hour before going for my run.

My schedule has undergone a drastic change. I'm used to waking up at 4am, having an afternoon nap for about 2 hours and then retiring for the day at 10pm. It worked out well for my exercises...but now that I have this huge change I can spare only 1 hour for either one of the type of exercises. I was contemplating doing either one of them in the evenings..but I'm really way too tired when I come back home.

Logic tells me to alternate weights & cardio. I have difficulty in letting go of this combo. What would be the best solution for maximum benefit?

I'm exercising for good health. I'm 44, female, and am not a professional athelete. I'm ovo vegetarian, and take supplements and rice protein powder every day.

Any advice please?

Thanks!

I guess it depends on what

I guess it depends on what 'maximum benefit' you are talking about. Psychologically it sounds like you should do 30mins weights and 30mins cardio as 'you find it hard to let this combo go.'

I guess it depends on what resistance training 'split' you are using whether it can be changed/cut down etc. Alternating days of cardio and RT sounds like a feasable option if you can bare it :D
