These are words from an expert which uses the POWER PLATE:

Question
I was just listening to the Verstegen interview and browsed around his website. I saw in the sponsor section that they work with powerplate.
How would you use the Powerplate? (In Belgium, where I was first introduced to the machine, they mostly market it to the sedentary population as a quick workout to substitute regular training and is often limited to static exercises).
Is it used as a stand alone training (i.e. today is powerplate day), is it used as a substitute, in between sets of regular training, as recovery,...
Mark's Answer
Great questions regarding the PowerPlate. The PowerPlate is a very versatile tool.
We use it for Warm-Up to increase blood flow, turn on the proprioceptors, and activate the stabilizers & CNS. We also do Flexibility (static and active) with great success. We also integrate strength from glute bridging to 1 Leg/1 Arm DB or Band RDL's, and works exceptional in isometric contractions at end ranges of motion or sticking points, eccentrics, etc.
This is integrated into the week ~ 2-4x Per week depending on the athlete, emphasis, etc.
Good Luck! Mark

Is overtraining on a power plate possible, because training time is reduced?

Dont know if this is true but i seem to remember reading an article years ago about the history of power plates. From what I can recall they where originally used to treat / prevent Osteoparosis in sheep and cattle.

Not sure if it is true but I suppose in a way it makes sense.
