Hi everyone,
I'm just about to start the Youth Conditioning Specialist Level 1 certification offered by the International Youth Conditioning Association. Just wondering if anyone has done it, what their thoughts are, anything i should be aware of or if their are any tips that i might need to know? I've already passed the NSCA's CSCS credential, is there any crossover between the two in general terms, workload, depth etc?
All thoughts welcome,
Alan

I have just started my YCS level 1 too. I purchased the text about 3 months ago and read it before I purchased the exam to give me longer to understand the text.
There is very little crossover from the CSCS to the YCS - primarily as have the exam is essays. The multiple choice are also very specific to the text although some crossover in strength and power development.
I spoke to Brian Grasso a few weeks ago and there is only 2 others in the UK and Ireland that have completed it!

Will start answering the questions this weekend and get all the multiply choices out of the way so can concentrate on the essays. Do we ever stop taking exams?!

I answered some of the questions but got easily destracted with the rugby on and football on sunday! Am attempting to get one section complete each night at moment! Will let you know how I get on. The questions are that bad- the answers in the book so was having an open book session. I should be finished the multipy choice within 2 weeks and start the essays soon after. Want to get it finished before end of July so dont have to worry about it while on holiday.
How about you, you looked at the questions?
