Hello and welcome to the Peak Performance forum.
My name is Matt and I am the Forum Administrator.
It would be great if you could use this thread to tell us a little bit about yourself and your sporting story. Only as much as you're comfortable with and it's of course not compulsory.
As for me- my main passion is football (known as soccer to some of you!) where I play, referee and support. I also enjoy cricket and tennis, although I am fairly useless at both. When I can't play sport I try to keep in shape by running (or at least by telling people I've been running- I am just as likely to be watching the sports channels in the pub).
I love watching live sport and last year I was lucky enough to be at the London Athletics Grand Prix, where I witnessed Usain Bolt in action, as well as the final Ashes test at the Oval, where England won the series 2-1.
If you have any problems please do not hesitate to contact me by leaving a message on this thread or by private messaging me!
I hope you enjoy your time on this site.
Regards
Matt Renton (matt.renton)

My name is Karen I am from the USA. I am 46yrs old and am a powerlifter. I currently hold the world record bench and deadlift records in the WABDL association, open and masters. I have been an athlete all of my life but just started powerlifting at the age of 40.
Hi Karen,

Corris,
I was at the gym, there was a powerlifting coach there also, he saw me benching 135lbs for 6 reps and wanted to have me on his team. I now bench 460, deadlift 458. It is addicting to me. LOL I Love it. I have gone from 214lbs to now 180 and increased strength. Life time drug free.

I've been a roadrunner for the past 30 years with not very much time out of it. I also like off road. I'm a coach to beginners and speedies also. I've had a couple of years where my coaching was more important and my own running was more of a tick over. I'm trying to get my own game back now and boy is it hard! Great site.
Cheers
Angie

HELLO ALL

HELLO
I HAVE JOINED THIS SITE AS A NEW RUNNER - THERE IS SO MUCH CONFLICTING INFO OUT THERE ON HOW TO & HOW NOT TO TRAIN; CONFUSSING!!! I GOT BACK INTO RUNNING AFTER MANY YEARS OF RUNNING WITH MY SISTER, WHO LOVED IT, I DID NOT LIKE IT (ALWAYS INJURED, SUCH AS, KNEE PROBLEMS, SHIN SPLINTS BUT CARRIED ON REGARDLESS. TODAY IS A DIFFERENT STORY GOT MY GAIT TESTED AND NEEDED SOME INSOLES - NO MORE PAIN!!! RAN LIVERPOOL (HM) HALF MARATHON LAST MONTH AND COMPLETED IN JUST UNDER 2 HOURS WAS DELIGHTED AS THAT WAS REALLY GOOD FOR ME. HOWEVER, TRYING TO IMPROVE MY TIMES NO IN SHORTER RUNS, 5/6K'S. RUNNING 15K 3 MAY 10. I BOUGHT ADIDAS MICOACH (INTERACTIVE COACH) TO HELP ACHIEVE MY GOALS BUT THINK I NEED MORE INFO RELATING TO SPEED TRAINING. WOULD WELCOME ANY TIPS, ADVICE (BEEN BACK RUNNING NOW SINCE DEC 09) I INCLUDE CROSS TRAINING - CYCLE, CROSS TRAINER, SPIN CLASSES & GENERAL MUSCULAR STRENGTH & ENDURANCE (1 X12 TO FAILURE) EACH MAJOR BODY PART. I AM ONLY HAVING X1 DAY OFF PER WEEK, IS THIS ENOUGH AS I CLASS CROSS TRAINING AS RECOVERY; AGAIN MAYBE TOO MUCH VOLUME AS I DO 1 HOUR EACH CARDIO WORKOUT (CYCLE, CROSS TRAINER IN GYM)?
SOZ ABOUT THE LENGTH OF POST!!!

Hi!

Hello, everyone
I'm a casual runner (is there really such a thing??). Mostly I'm just a fan who likes to keep tabs on Raf Baugh and Ben Offereins. I did track & field in high school, so I've always had an interest.
Gleening lots of great info on the site!
