Rugby
5th Dec '11, 3:21pm
From the moment I saw The All Blacks play when I was eight years old, I knew that I wanted to play rugby. The speed, skill and determination that the players show is just un-matched, and one of the many reasons why they are the best team in the world, and have been for a long while, and why I have always supported them. And the Haka always makes the stadium atmosphere go wild, whether you watching it there, or at home.
What I also love about rugby is the saying is true, “A ruffians sport played by gentleman” no matter who you play, you can tackle as hard as you want, break a nose, give a black eye, on the pitch, and then have a chat about the game with the opposition as if you were best mates afterwards, and you don’t get that in other sports. Its the same when you go and watch a team play, during the RWC2011, I was sat next to an Aussie supporter having a laugh, when in other sports, fans are segregated, and hate each other.
That is why I love rugby.
My brother is a keen rugby

My brother is a keen rugby player (well, he was, too many injuries now to play) so would agree with those sentiments Alex!
Cycling

As a 15 year old, the moment I saw Greg Le'mond beat Lauren F in the 1990 Tour de France in the final few seconds of the last time trial, I realised that racing in cycling was something I could be great at and as bike seemed to be permanently fixed to my legs it seemed to make sense at the time. Then proceeded to get my first real bike and enter MTB races.
Early promise was cut very short by the death of my father from cancer, but cycling has remained a massive part of my life ever since, and now helps to feed my children, and pay my mortgage as part of my sports performance business.
Rugby is something I never ever took to or played despite being deemed to have the ideal build at 12 years of age, 6ft 3 and 14 stone in lean weight.
Whatever ones sport though, it is like a global community in its own right, and I for one do not think the governments of the western world do enough to promote the uptake and participation at a time when obesity is quickly becoming the next global pandemic.

I need motivation everytime before I go to fitness and workout. I do it by watching short clip videos of people who are trying to do something similar.
It's the best motivation for me. I also trained football for almost all my childhood and even now I play and my motivation was watching hours and hours of games.
Stay Motivated and Inspired! Anything is possible!
