The 400m final at the Beijing Olympics is set for a spell binding clash between Jeremy Wariner and LaShawn Merritt. Due to his wealth of experience Wariner is the favourite to win the gold but Merritt will be a real threat and has twice defeated the Olympic champion in the 2008 season.

Wariner is a proven world competition winner and in addition to his numerous gold medals he has also run the two fastest 400m times of 2008. Both athletes are in good form and the 400m final will undoubtedly be one of the track and field highlights of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
