About Lauren Jackson: Beijing 2008 will be Lauren Jackson’s third Olympics and she has amassed the reputation as being one of the greatest female basketball players in the world. Jackson first competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and led the Australian team to its best ever Olympic finish of a silver medal. In Athens 2004 Jackson was the women’s basketball tournament’s top points scorer, which enabled the Australians to repeat their success in Sydney of a silver medal. Jackson also repeated her feat of top scorer for the women’s basketball tournament at the 2006 World Championships and was this time rewarded with a gold medal for Australia.

Not only does she possess a fantastic scoring record but her rebounding and blocking scores have also been consistently high, making her by far the most dangerous player in the tournament.
