I'm 13 years old and female. My main sport is football although i'm extremely active. I play in goal and everytime i take a goal kick i get a sharp pain in my ankle and every time i put pressure on it i get searing pain spread through my lower leg and foot, this pain lasts for around 24 hours. What is causing this pain and how can i prevent it? Would physiotherapy help?

I can only speak from my own experience. I had very weak ankles also. When I started to incoporate barefoot running at my local park into my routine my feet and lower legs became very strong. But try to find out what is causing the pain first. There are a number of things that could be causing the pain.
