Our subscription newsletters

When you take out a subscription to one of our newsletters you agree, with the exception of a free trial offer, to pay for a trial subscription followed by an automatic conversion to a full subscription, then an automatic renewal at the end of the subscription period. All prices and time frames are detailed on our web pages and on the Worldpay payment pages (where applicable) before you take out the offer.

All subscriptions are covered by our money-back guarantee. You can cancel at any time, by telephone, email or in writing. You are entitled to a pro-rata refund on the unmailed portion of your subscription.

Cooling off period

By law, customers in the European Union also have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the date the item is delivered. This applies to all of our products except for digital items (eg: e-Books) where the item has been downloaded. For more information, please visit the Department of Trade and Industry's website: http://www.dti.gov.uk/ccp/topics1/guide/homeshop.htm#cooling

Combined book/subscription packages

On some occasions we will package together a book and subscription for a single price. In these cases, the book purchase and subscription are treated as separate entities and the terms and conditions apply as above.

Worldpay Shopper Guarantee

All purchases made through the Worldpay system are also covered by the Worldpay Shopper Guarantee. This is reproduced here:

"We want you to shop with confidence at all WorldPay Guaranteed online stores. If you make a purchase from a participating store, you can be sure that we will refund your payment if your goods or services are unsatisfactory, or if they are not delivered in accordance with the terms of our contract.

For instance, if we are satisfied that a WorldPay Guaranteed store has failed to deliver the goods or services you ordered, or they were defective - WorldPay will refund your card payment. If you wish to request a refund under this guarantee then contact us at guarantee@uk.worldpay.com .

To qualify for this guarantee, you should notify us promptly of the problem and explain why you are entitled to a refund, quoting your transaction number (which is contained in our email to you confirming the transaction). We will assess whether you are entitled to a refund and take care of the liaison with the store. Please allow at least the length of time advised by the store for delivery. No claim can be dealt with under this guarantee if made after 60 days from the original transaction date. WorldPay's decision is final. In no circumstances shall WorldPay be liable to you for more than the amount of the card payment made by you. This guarantee is personal to you, governed by English law and does not limit any legal or other rights you may have."

BFPO and AFPO addresses

Because all our books are despatched from the UK, BFPO and AFPO addresses are treated as international addresses. For example, if you are stationed on an American base in Germany, we would charge postage from the UK to Germany (if postage costs apply; many of our items incur no postage costs). All newsletters are delivered free so BFPO and AFPO addresses are treated as any other.
