Women's barbell bench press

Privacy Policy [opens in new window]

The barbell bench press is a fundamental upper body exercise for both men and women. The alternating and normal hammer curls are both good exercises for developing and keeping the biceps strong.

Hi there,

If you are trying to defy gravity then all areas of your pecs need to be developed. Even then your breasts, due to their make up of fat tissue, will still be stretched as you age and after child birth and breast feeding take place.

If your breasts are sagging then the flat bench, incline and decline may help but don't get caught up in the non persuasive argument that incline bench presses will preserve the contour of your breasts because they won’t.

A variety of upper chest exercises will help build up a strong under layer of musculature that your breasts rest upon but keeping them from sagging is not going to happen with current exercise protocols.
